I remember being broken up with for maybe the third time in my life and my sister Christina brought this song into my room, played it and just cried with me. It was a moment I'll never forget. True Empathy. She was trying to communicate that she knew that no matter what had happened or that would happen, the end would be happy for me. Love you sister. Back on the saddle!

I created this blog and then totally abandoned it for about six months. Long story short, I had a baby (another little girl) and so singing and performing got progressively more difficult to do. And then came the adjustment period. But I am back on the saddle again and more ready than ever to resume the musical endeavors. I have been writing a bit lately and will soon be posting some gig dates. I have been thinking a lot about the preciousness of life and how fragile each moment of our lives is. My mother has to go in for tumor removal on her pancreas because it is at a pre-cancer stage and could very easily become deadly at any given moment. I pray she'll get through this horrific surgery and go on to live many more years. But in the last year I have had one young friend who is the mother of six girls lose her husband, my best friend from high-school lost her father suddenly, another friend from my past lost his father, and a woman in my ward lost her husband just a few weeks ago. All these incidents were sudden and unexpected. My mother has great faith and tells me daily that she knows she'll get through it and that she can't die yet because too many people still need her here. But I know that God is no respecter of persons when it comes to loss. Each person mentioned above still "needed" that loved one of theirs that passed. I truly believe my mother can make it through if it is God's will. Even if you're not religious, I want to make a point that loss is part of every one's life and all will experience it to one degree or another. Our test is to see if we will remain faithful, or for those who are not religious "strong" and "positive" when the hard times come. I am writing this simply as a pre-cursor of good music to come. Lyrics about life and loss are flowing through me. Stay tuned for that song to be completed. As a song writer I have been taught that when you experience what is called "The Bloom" of the song ( ie what inspired the song) you must stay true to that and write til' you can write no more, so as not to lose "The Bloom". Be well my friends. And cherish your every breath.
